Has an act to establish the faculty of medicine ,Khon kaen university in 1972.

The first dean was Prof. Dr. Kawee thungsubutra. Later in 1974, a medical student

was admitted to the first class which was a student who was from faculty of science

, 16 people passed up to the second year of the class in faculty of medicine.

The first head of parasitology department is Assoc. Prof. Dr.Sombat Chaiphet(pass away)

and the pioneering professor of the department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuanchai Srisawangwong

,Assoc. Suchart Pariyanonda(pass away), Assoc. Vichit Pipitgol. From 1974-1977 ,some of the

departmental professor have gone to study aboard so having some help form professor of

other department, Assoc. Pramote Tongkrajai(retired) from department of microbiology

,Assoc. Chalor Intarakhao(retired) and Assoc. Srinoi Maskasame from department of

community medicine(retired). The starting to teach workplace of faculty of medicine is 

a chemical building, an old faculty of science building then move to teach at 

faculty of public health building in 1975 and in 1983 has moved to this place today.
